Nanyang Ancient Town in Weishan was once one of the four famous canal towns and was known as "Little Suzhou in Jiangbei". In China, there are very few historical towns where rivers pass through islands, but the ancient canal that runs through Nanyang Island is still gurgling. The small island, ancient town, canal, and large lake are integrated into one. This kind of urban landscape is unique in the country.
The ancient town was built along the canal. When it was prosperous, there were more than ten places of interest in Nanyang. Emperor Qianlong also stayed in the town when he went to the south of the Yangtze River. Yaxing wrote a plaque for Majiadian. The threshold he walked through is treasured. 230 years long. Nanyang Ancient Town is located in Nanyang Lake in the northwest of Weishan County and the northern end of Weishan Lake, 40 kilometers away from Jining City. The ancient town consists of a main island with a length of 3,500 meters from east to west and a width of 500 meters from north to south and multiple natural islands. The main attractions are the "Sixteen Scenes of Nanyang", including Yuehe Range Rover, Xingzhuang Cao Cao View, Laojie Commercial Bank, Jiege Crossing River, ancient temple blessing, imperial banquet nostalgic, Zhongxiao Square shadow, lotus pond flying, fishermen in the lake, long bridge lying on the waves, the emperor stepping on the bank, lotus pond moonlight, fish jumping on the water, Caohe willow bank, fish pond sunset, Nandian Buddha Pavilion.
