Yinchuan South Gate Tower, also known as Nanxun Gate, is known as the "Little Tiananmen". It is the only preserved and most complete city gate tower among the six ancient city gates in Yinchuan. It is also the gathering place for major celebrations in Yinchuan. The South Gate Tower is majestic and solemn. In the fifth year of Qianlong's reign, there was a scene called "Autumn Colors of the South Tower". For tourists, this is a must-visit and must-photograph iconic building, especially Beijing tourists, who feel very familiar with it. Set against the surrounding modern buildings, the standing South Gate Tower looks even more majestic.

The South Gate Tower is located at the southern end of Zhongshan South Street in the city center, where it intersects with Nanxun East Street and Shengli Street. The gatehouse consists of a platform base, a mezzanine, a viewing platform and other parts. It has an opening in the middle, a portrait of Chairman Mao hung in the middle, and slogans on both sides; there are steps on the back to go upstairs. In front of the South Gate Tower is the South Gate Square, and behind it there are landscapes such as a circular corridor for citizens and tourists to rest.
