The 19th Route Army Songhu Anti-Japanese War Martyrs Cemetery is a martyrs' cemetery built to commemorate the soldiers of the 19th Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army who died in the "January 28" Songhu Anti-Japanese War in 1932. It was built in 1933 with donations from overseas Chinese. The park is located at No. 113 Shuiyin Road, Guangzhou, with an area of 62,120 square meters. It is a national key martyrs' memorial building protection unit, a national, provincial and municipal patriotism education base and a Guangzhou cultural relic protection unit.

In 1931, Japanese imperialism created the "September 18th" Incident and invaded the three northeastern provinces of my country. On January 28, 1932, the Japanese invaders brazenly sent troops to invade Zhabei, Shanghai. At that time, the patriotic generals of the Kuomintang stationed in the Songhu area, the commander-in-chief of the 19th Route Army Jiang Guangnai and the commander of the army Cai Tingkai led the soldiers of the whole army to fight against the enemy, and the "Songhu War of Resistance" that shocked China and the world broke out. Later, Zhang Zhizhong's Fifth Army also participated in the battle and dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese army. The soldiers of the 19th Route Army bravely fought against the enemy's invasion, fought hard for 33 days, fought more than 100 times, forced the Japanese army to change its commander three times, and lost more than 10,000 soldiers. But in the end, due to being outnumbered, the 19th Route Army retreated to the second line of defense. On May 5, the "Songhu Armistice Agreement" was signed, and the tragic and fierce Songhu War of Resistance ended.
Because except for a very small number of foreigners among the officers in the 19th Route Army, the vast majority of the officers and almost all the soldiers were from Guangdong, the people of Guangdong specially built this cemetery to commemorate the martyrs who died in the battle and to commend the soldiers of the 19th Route Army for their efforts in defending the country and resisting the enemy.
