Nanjing Laomendong Historic District is a traditional area that allows people to re-experience the southern style of the old city. It was also one of the most developed commercial and residential areas in Nanjing. The reconstruction of traditional Chinese wooden buildings and horse-head walls in traditional styles, lifelike street sculptures, and delicious snacks reproduce the urban life and traditional culture in the south of Nanjing's old city, giving people living in modern times a place of nostalgia.

Laomen East is located east of Zhonghua Gate, bounded by Jiangning Road in the east, the Qinhuai River in the castle section of Zhonghua Gate in the west, Madao Street in the north, and the Ming City Wall in the south.
