Scenic spot introduction:

Sujiawei, Heyuan, Guangdong, is where Su Dongpo's descendants live, and is known as "the picture village in South China". Surrounded by mountains and rivers and surrounded by greenery, Sujiawei is dominated by typical Hakka residential buildings with Central Plains characteristics. The earliest enclosed houses can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty. Country roads, smoke from cooking stoves, chickens and dogs sniffing each other, men farming and women weaving, the original countryside makes people feel relaxed and happy, and at the same time, they can experience the more than 700 years of history and culture of the Su family and the Hakka people. Every piece of soil and gravel in the village also writes a vivid chapter unique to Sujiawei for them.

Attractions distribution:

Sujiawei is located in Yihe Town, Heyuan City, about 26 kilometers away from the urban area of Heyuan. There are currently 18 enclosed houses in the village, the oldest one is Yongsi Hall, and the relatively complete ones include Shangxinwu, Anlewowu, Yuelaiwu; the remains of the Yijiang ancient temple site, the west gate of the ancient village, etc. To commemorate Su Dongpo, Sujiawei can also see Su cultural attractions such as the Bronze Statue of the Four Sus, Dongpo Square, Forest of Poetry Steles, Perilla Garden, Su Gong Temple, and Bamboo Forest. On the premise of maintaining the rural characteristics, a historical slogan cultural display area, a farming four-season corridor and other browsing areas are also set up for people to understand the history of the ancient village.

How to get there:

Bus route: Take train or long-distance bus to Heyuan City first, and then take a special bus from Yuan City Bus Terminal to Sujiawei Scenic Area. Visitors who go to Dongjiang Gallery first can take a boat to Sujiawei.

Self-driving route: Drive towards Heyuan on Guanghe Expressway and Changshen Expressway. Leave from Yihe/X154 exit and then turn to Y477 via X154.
