Palace of Holyroodhouse The Palace of Holyroodhouse is the palace where Mary Queen of Scots was crowned and lived. It was built in 1498 by James V, the father of Queen Mary. It was formerly Holyrood Abbey. Some remains of the abbey can still be seen in the palace. Every summer, this is the royal residence of the Queen of England when she comes to Scotland. Whenever the Queen lives here, the royal flag will be raised in the palace like Buckingham Palace and other royal palaces.Attractions distribution:
Palace of Holyroodhouse There have been many events in history, the most famous of which is Queen Mary of Scotland, who once lived in the castle tower. Mary married the French royal family at the age of 15, and returned to Scotland when her husband died at the age of 19. The palace is closed to the public around Christmas time and during the summer when the Queen resides here.
