Pingyao County Government was first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty and finalized in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The earliest existing building was built in the sixth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1346), which has a history of more than 600 years. The government office is located in the center of the ancient city, facing north and facing south, with an axially symmetrical layout. The north-south axis is more than 200 meters long and the east-west width is more than 100 meters, covering an area of more than 26,000 square meters. The county government office follows the feudal etiquette system, with civil servants on the left and military officials on the right, with sleeping quarters in the front and six courtyards on the central axis. It is a typical building of the county government office in China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.As one of the four well-preserved ancient government offices in China, Pingyao County Government Office is also the largest existing county government office in the country. The entire county government building complex is orderly, well-proportioned, and has a reasonable structure. It is an organic whole. It can be called the epitome of a royal palace in terms of architectural layout and functional settings.

County government ticket prices:
All attractions in Pingyao City require a pass, which costs 130 yuan per person, but does not include the city tower (5 yuan for the city tower). Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple outside the city are 25 and 20 yuan respectively. The above attractions can be visited for half price with a student ID card, and active military personnel and disabled retired military personnel are free.
