Anuradhapura is the oldest city in Sri Lanka, with a history of more than 2,500 years. The Big Bodhi Tree in Anuradhapura is the most sacred object after the Buddha's Tooth and is also the most famous attraction in the ancient city. The important attractions in the ancient city are concentrated around the ruins of the royal palace and the Palatine Palace. They are relatively concentrated and walking is the most comfortable way.

September-October. This is the dry season and is suitable for travel.

How to get there:
Departing from China, there are three direct flights per week between Beijing and Colombo. SriLankan Airlines has regular flights to the capital Colombo from Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore. There are radial railways from Colombo to other cities in Sri Lanka.
