Huai'an Liu Laozhuang Company Memorial Park commemorates the incident on March 18, 1943 when 82 officers and men of the Fourth Company of the Second Battalion of the 19th Regiment of the 3rd Division of the New Fourth Army, led by company commander Bai Sicai and instructor Li Yunpeng, defended Liu Laozhuang. They fought bloody battles until they died heroically for the safe transfer of the local party, government, and military leadership and the people. The park has formed several characteristic landscapes represented by memorial halls, monuments, martyrs' tombs, Red Star Square, and memorial forests. It has become a garden-style cemetery integrating publicity, tribute, education, sightseeing and other functions and a classic scenic spot for national red tourism.
