Scenic spot introduction:

Songyang Academy was founded in the eighth year of Taihe reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. It was one of the birthplaces of Song Dynasty scholarship. It was regarded as a holy place for reading by people at the time and ranked among the four major academies in the Song Dynasty.

Attractions distribution:

Songyang Academy is located at the foot of Junji Peak 3 kilometers north of Dengfeng City. It is named because it is located in the sun of Songshan Mountain. The architectural layout of the academy maintains the style of the pre-Qing Dynasty. There are more than 500 halls, corridors and rooms, and a total of five courtyards. The composition and environment are very beautiful. The first building of Songyang Academy is the Temple of the Former Masters, which worships the ancestors and sages related to the academy. It is followed by the lecture hall, the Daotong Temple behind the lecture hall, and finally the library. The side rooms on both sides were originally the "Cheng Zhu Temple", the library, and Xuezhai et al. The walls of the corridors in the courtyard are inlaid with inscriptions and messages by literati and poets from past dynasties, and their contents have unique calligraphy. The west side courtyard contains part of the teaching and examination room of Songyang Academy in the Qing Dynasty.
