Wutai Mountain Foguang Temple Travel Guide
Scenic spot introduction:
Foguang Temple in Wutai Mountain is one of the most influential ancient temples in my country during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Because of its long history and precious Buddhist cultural relics in the temple, it is known as the "Buddha's Light of Asia". The temple was first built during the period of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty and flourished in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. During the reign of Emperor Wuzong of the Tang Dynasty, Buddhism was banned and the temples were destroyed. After Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty succeeded to the throne, Buddhism revived and Foguang Temple was rebuilt. In 1937, the famous Chinese architect Liang Sicheng and others inspected and surveyed Foguang Temple, and the temple became widely known. Nowadays, Foguang Temple has green pines and cypresses, majestic temples and quiet environment. It is not only a holy place for Buddhist believers to worship, but also an ideal palace for tourists to visit.Attractions distribution:
Foguang Temple has a sparse layout with clear priorities and consists of three courtyards. The palaces in the temple are exquisite and rich in cultural relics, including not only the East Main Hall, Tianwang Hall, Manjusri Hall, Jialan Hall, Wanshan Hall, Xiangfeng Huayu Tower, wing rooms, cave dwellings and other buildings, but also Tang Dynasty stone buildings, Tang pagodas, and Zushi pagodas. The relics of the time are all the essence of Buddhist art in the Tang Dynasty of my country.Scenic spot qualifications:
