Wenshu Monastery in Chengdu is the first of the four major Buddhist monasteries in the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China. It is one of the ten scenic spots in Chengdu. Wenshu Monastery is located on Wenshu Monastery Street in downtown Chengdu, covering an area of ​​approximately 11,600 square meters. The temple faces north and faces south, with an all-wooden structure. On the central axis facing the mountain gate are the Tianwang Hall, the Three Great Scholars Hall, the Daxiong Hall, the Dharma Hall, the Sutra Library and the Wenshu Pavilion. It is magnificent and majestic. The temple houses more than 300 large and small Buddha statues, including steel castings, wood carvings, stone carvings, and clay sculptures, which are very rich; Kangxi's imperial pen, the authentic calligraphy of Mi Fu, a calligrapher from the Song Dynasty, the skull of Master Xuanzang from the Tang Dynasty, Manjusri from the pick-up yarn, and the tongue-blood-containing treasure, etc. Buddhist cultural relics are also collected here.
