Beijing Zhongshan Park is located south of the Forbidden City (Forbidden City) in the center of Beijing and west of Tiananmen. It is separated from the Forbidden City by a wall. It is a commemorative temple garden. Zhongshan Park in Beijing was originally the Xingguo Temple in the Liao and Jin Dynasties. It was renamed Wanshou Xingguo Temple in the Yuan Dynasty. In 1421 (the 19th year of Yongle), when Zhu Di, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, built the Beijing Palace, it was rebuilt into the Sheji Altar in accordance with the system of "left ancestor and right society". It was a place where emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties worshiped the God of Earth and the God of Grain. It was opened as Central Park in 1914 and later renamed Zhongshan Park in 1928 because Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s body was parked here after his death. It was originally the Sheji Altar of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and now covers an area of 23.8 hectares.
